Is this sunscreen reef-safe?

Our sunscreens comply with Hawaii's and other regional regulations designed to protect coral reefs and marine environments. They do not contain ingredients banned in those areas, such as Oxybenzone or Octinoxate. While "reef-safe" is not a regulated term, you can learn more about our approach to this claim here.

Is this sunscreen non-nano?

Our sunscreens are considered non-nano under European Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. However, "non-nano" is not a regulated term in the United States. All of our sunscreens are independently tested for safety and efficacy under dermatological and pediatric supervision.

What does EWG VERIFIED® mean?

EWG VERIFIED® products meet the Environmental Working Group's strict standards for ingredient safety, transparency, and product efficacy. This certification requires products to meet rigorous health and safety criteria beyond standard sunscreen ratings.

Can babies use mineral sunscreen?

Yes. Many healthcare professionals recommend mineral sunscreen because it sits on top of the skin rather than being absorbed. In addition to sunscreen, babies and children should be protected with shade, hats, and protective clothing.

At what age can babies start wearing sunscreen?

According to the FDA, sunscreen can be used on babies over 6 months of age unless otherwise directed by a healthcare provider. For younger infants, shade and protective clothing are recommended.

Is this sunscreen fragrance-free?

Yes. All Babo Botanicals sunscreens are fragrance-free and formulated for sensitive skin.

Will this sunscreen leave a white cast?

Mineral sunscreens may leave some visible cast depending on skin tone. Our formulas are designed to apply as sheer as possible while maintaining effective mineral protection.

Is this sunscreen suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Our sunscreens are dermatologist tested, fragrance-free, and formulated specifically for sensitive skin.

Are your products gluten-free?

Yes. All Babo Botanicals products are gluten-free.

Do you test on animals?

No. We do not test our products or ingredients on animals.

Are your products vegan?

Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. Babo Botanicals products are developed with sensitive skin in mind and are dermatologist tested whenever applicable.

How long do Babo products last?

Unopened products should be used before the expiration date printed on the packaging. Once opened, we recommend using products within the period indicated on the package for best performance.
