The Environmental Working Group is a nonprofit organization that evaluates products to meet strict safety and transparency standards. When a personal-care or cosmetic product is EWG Verified®, it has undergone an assessment by toxicologists, chemists, and epidemiologists.
When shopping for your household's clean-beauty essentials, the EWG Verified® mark does all the work for you. This mark means that the product is free from EWG’s chemicals of concern and meets strict standards for health.

We hold ourselves to high standards of safety and sustainability, ensuring that our ingredients are mindfully selected, effective, and supported by third-party experts.

Verification Process
We are proud to be verified through a rigorous process to ensure transparency and provide products that meet EWG standards.The verification process is not just a rating score, it's an in-depth analysis to ensure the product can be trusted.
To get the EWG Verified® mark, we completed the following:

Reviewed the full criteria of unacceptable and restricted elements

Provided all documentation to their science team for a toxicology review

Submitted substantiating documents to prove our product complies with applicable restrictions - laboratory test results, certificate of analysis, IFRA Conformity Certificates, etc.

After our products were approved, we received a licensing contract and training on how to educate and utilize the trademark
The Truth About Verified SPF
Did you know 3 in 4 sunscreens reviewed by the Environmental Working Group don’t meet their standards?
In 2025, studies showed that when EWG tested 2,000 SPF products, only 498 of those evaluated met their rigorous criteria. At Babo Botanicals, we are proud to be one of the first to carry EWG-verified sunscreen. This is an achievement we have now reached with 9 of our sunscreen products. This recognition reinforces our commitment to creating safe, effective suncare that families can trust. We’ll continue innovating with the same passion and purpose, while protecting skin and making efforts to reduce our environmental impact.
We are proud to offer 26 EWG Verified® products across skin, hair, sun and baby care. We plan to expand this number and to continue to work with EWG science and health professionals to grow with their safety requirements. We look forward to future launches that comply with their standards, and we will remain fully dedicated to making product safety an ongoing priority.
