All Babo products are thoroughly tested by independent clinical laboratories to make sure they are hypoallergenic, allergy tested and non-irritating.
We avoid using ingredients like parabens, phthalates and synthetic fragrances that could potentially cause an allergic reaction to developing, sensitive skin. Please see our testing procedures here. We screen every ingredient for safety, formulating to a standard knowing that those especially vulnerable—like pregnant women and babies—rely on our products.
Testing procedures
Preservative Challenge Tests: We test to ensure our preservatives are gentle, yet strong and effective so that they do not change the odor, color, appearance, consistency, pH or performance of the formula. Preservatives protect from contamination.
Water Resistant & Broad Spectrum: For sunscreen products, this is done at an outside FDA regulated lab to ensure SPF value and water resistant protection.
Sensitive Skin & Hypoallergenic : We conduct RIPT Clinical testing to ensure our products are hypoallergenic, allergy tested and safe enough for the most sensitive skin.
Dermatologist & Pediatrician Tested: Depending on the formula, clinical doctors test and approve the formula.
Packaging Compatibility: We test the formulas in the packaging to ensure there is no reaction with the packaging material. Sometimes the plastic or resin can change the formula.
Batch Microbial Testing: We conduct microbial testing on each batch of our products to be sure there's no sign of microbes or bacterial growth.
Formula Stability: Formulas are tested in extreme temperatures and light to ensure they never change throughout their journey.
Active Testing: For all OTC drug claims (eczema, sunscreen – the actives are tested to ensure they were batched at the right percent to make the claim
Cruelty-Free Testing
Babo does not test any products on animals. Our formulators do not conduct animal testing. Babo has PETA’s Statement of Assurance, which states that we "do not conduct, contract out, or fund studies on animals in the development, manufacturing, testing, or marketing of our products.
