I have to say one of the most fun aspects of owning Babo has been meeting so many wonderful people along the way - from the most dedicated team of botanists, who develop the products, to my new best friend, Swanny, the Grenadian UPS man whom I see daily now. Swanny helps me out so much – and he is doing his best to try to get UPS headquarters to lower my shipping fees so I can pass on those savings to my customers (I hate charging shipping, but I have to – sorry!).
I also have become so friendly with a wide variety of people that factor into my daily chain of operations – from administrative support to channel distribution. I’m a regular habitué of Staples, where I go to buy my office supplies and produce certain Babo collateral. They’ve come to call me “Shampoo Girl” – something I love, incidentally! I’ve also gotten to know the salon proprietors and pharmacy owners that are the life blood of my brand’s distribution. What a privilege it was to meet the 3rd generation owner of C.O Bigelow Chemist - the coolest Apothecary in town, carrying super niche products. I have dreamed of having my products in Bigelow – and it’s finally happening. Most recently, I launched my line in Butterfly Studio Salon and am honored to have Katya, the owner, as a new friend. She owns one of the finest, most beautiful salons in Manhattan.
Another aspect that is incredibly gratifying is getting phone calls and correspondence from people all over the world who have taken an interest in my brand. Last week I posted a blog about recruiting moms to rep Babo. I had a lovely conversation with a woman from Louisiana and we ended up speaking for over an hour about our respective families. Never in a million years would I have spoken to her had it not been for Babo.
Yet my greatest source of joy and satisfaction is receiving pictures from happy Babo families of your children using my products. Please keep them coming - I will do my best to keep my site fresh with pictures of your smiling kids. Really, what could make Babo the Bunny happier than to be embraced by so many wonderful boys and girls?
