Besides our wonderful new natural diaper cream having oat and calendula to provide an optimal moisture barrier, it has Styrax Benzoin. Styrax Benzoin is the gum of the tree and is native to Sumatra. It has a fragrant vanilla like smell. It has been used for centuries as a disinfectant (Tincture of Benzoin, used in Hospitals, for wound care). It also have a slight fragrance to it because it is rich in Eugenol and Vanillin, both used to make vanilla fragrances.. It also reduces free radicals and is used to help stabilize oils and prevent rancidity. It is infused in the oil portion of the diaper cream for all of these purposes.
The Polyglyceryl-3 beeswax (other wise called Cera Bellina) is comprised of the fatty acids of bees wax that has been converted to glyceryl esters. They are totally natural and the chemistry to produce them is very green. I love that we use beeswax in our formulas because I am a bee keeper. I taught bee keeping in South America and we used to sell bees wax so the farmers would have additional income. We also put them into cosmetic products for healing properties. Beeswax locks in moisture, fosters cells and protects skin from damaging environmental factors. It effectively softens your baby’s skin and creates a long-lasting protective coating against the elements. It also is a naturally nourishing moisturizer as well as being anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-allergenic and a germicidal antioxidant.
So we hope you love our diaper cream for all your baby’s sensitive skin!
